About Me

All my Counselling and Psychotherapy training was in London. I have worked in the NHS as a Criminal Justice Worker and Counsellor for 14 years. I also worked part time in primary and secondary schools as a child and adolescent psychotherapist.

I trained as a counsellor at Metanoia Institute in London, completing a 3 year Diploma. The Metanoia Institute is a long-established and very well-regarded training centre for counsellors and psychotherapists. During my training as a counsellor I completed a degree in Psychology ( 3 Years) . Following this I completed a  Diploma in Supervision ( 1 year)  and a Certificate in the use of Creative Arts ( 1 year) at the Institute Of Arts and Education.

I also have an MA ( 5 Years)  in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy accredited by Middlesex University.

These training courses combined cognitive, humanistic and psychodynamic models of working with clients . I would describe myself as an “Integrative Therapist ” in my approach.

I am accredited member of both the UK Council For Psychotherapy ( UKCP) and the British Association For Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the two principal accrediting bodies for counsellors and psychotherapists working with clients. Both bodies have extensive and rigorous criteria for accreditation.

I am also an IACP accredited psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.

I am committed to ethical, non-discriminatory practice with my clients and abide by the principles and ethics of both the UKCP, BACP and IACP
