Counselling-Psychotherapy Provision – statement of understanding –

 

Working terms of the Psychotherapy agreement:

  • First Contact–I invite you for a discussion for us both to come to an initial decision about working together and to create a space where you can ask questions and air any concerns. It’s also a time for me to carry out an assessment of the presenting issues and decided if I’m the right person to take on the work.
  • Initial agreement–if we both consider that working together remains useful and feasible then I am likely to offer you a counselling relationship with periodic reviews. Usually –unless negotiated otherwise – meeting will happen on a weekly basis miestenapteekki.com.
  • Sessionslast for 50 minutes –please aim to arrive promptly as I am usually unable to overrun.
  • Confidentiality- All my work with clients is confidential. I may break this if I judge there is significant or immediate threat to your safety or that of others. Naturally, I would attempt to discuss my concerns with you prior to doing this.
  • Paymentis due at the end of each session, or we can come to arrangement that works best for both of us. My fee is decided on our first meeting. My standard is €80 euros, but in some cases this can be negotiated. I can provide periodic receipts if needed.
  • Children and Adolescents: I will, in some cases, share aspects of what is discussed in the sessions with the parents of young/teenage clients, but this will depend on the wishes of the client and on my own views of what is appropriate.
  • When I begin work with Adolescents I will only communicate with the parent(s) if there is a concernor risk.
  • In certain cases I will do some creative visualization to help with anxiety or stress.
  • Cancellations–I require 5 full working days notice (Mon-Fri) otherwise the full fee is payable. If it is possible to re-schedule, on rare instances this might be possible, but cannot be guaranteed.
